Should I tell to my best friend that I love him?

I have a good friend, we had shared secrets and feelings, I trust him and we cared for each other, he have changed the things that bothered me and have always go the extra mile for me… In general I consider him my best friend…. Since a month ago, he started dating a girl that I don’t like and seeing them together makes me feel pain, I even cry because of that, My friend had notice that and he is asking me if I like him…the true is that I don’t know what to say, I thing that I love him, but I don’t want to lose my friendship with him. However the girl that he is dating is jealous of my closeness with him and have asked him not to be that close to me, because of that I have tried to get away from him, but he is still by my side and still wondering about my feelings for him.
Since he got a girl is very probably that he don’t feel the same, so why does he want to know my feelings? Wouldn’t it be better for he not to push me to tell him?
We had fight about the situation and I have told him that I would not love someone that had hurt me like he has and he seems bothered by it, however, he is always pointing in the middle of the fight that we are not a couple.
I have tried hard to deny it but he is always telling me how we act like a couple: fight like a couple, walk like a couple and how I have always be jealous of other girls.
What should I do?
